I've got a Dr-880 and it's reasonably easy to do what you want to do on it, because it has an SMF (simple MIDI file) import feature, I also used to have a Dr-3 and you can still. I have been shopping around and Roland makes several usb-midi interfaces just for their Boss drum machines for around 40 bux. Jan 2, 2014 - Does anyone use the BOSS DR-880 with Cubase? Looks like your on your own, even midiquest doesn't have a file to be able to make a text. File for which you could load into Cubase which then would give. Funny, Cakewalk is now owned bu Roland and they don't even offer a DR-880.ins file for Sonar! View and Download Roland DR-880 owner's manual online. The DR-880 has MIDI IN and MIDI. BOSS_DR-880” icon. The files from the DR.

Dear all, I have a problem with my DR-880 drum machine. I want to import midi files from my computer to my drum machine. What I do is I connect the DR-880 to my computer the way the manual tells me to do so and my computer does recognize the DR-880 and make a DR-880 icon on my L drive. Then the manual says I need to drag my midi files to this DR-880 icon and it will start to import my files. I have EZdrummer midi files I want to import. I can wait forever but nothing happens.

When I press exit it’s asking if I want to stop the import, but it doesn’t import at all. Can someone please help meRgrds, Hans Posts: 22 Joined: 08:02, 12 April 2010. Hi pickinboy, The DR-880 is a drum machine and not a sequencer. One builds songs in a drum machine by linking many small patterns into a complete song. The DR-880 _allows_ one to build patterns of many, many measures but one still must realize that it is a drum machine and not a sequencer.

In my opinion, the device is best utilized by keeping the vast majority of your original patterns short in length, say four measures or less (as are the built in patterns) then creating your songs (ideally) with a mix of the built in patterns and your custom patterns. The more of the built in patterns you are able to incorporate into your songs the less memory you will consume and consequently the more songs you can compose.

If you are not able to incorporate any of the built in patterns then keep in mind that the longer your custom patterns are the fewer songs you'll have. I have noticed a very common error (which I committed myself when I first bought it) is that new owners like to compose very long patterns, or entire songs as a pattern. This chews up memory unnecessarily and is not really using the device as designed. In summation, 1) just because you _can_ compose 96 measure patterns doesn't mean you _should_ do it. 2) the DR-880 is a drum machine and not a sequencer and is best utilized as a drum machine (i. 3dtv Play Serial Keygen Mac more. e building long songs from short patterns).

Now to answer your question as best I can: if used as designed the DR-880 really doesn't need any more memory than it has. Although it would be fantastic if we could add more I don't know how to do it. Eric ps if the above doesn't describe your problem then.nevermind:) Posts: 43 Joined: 18:50, 7 December 2007.

Trying to set either Logic or the dr880 as the master and the other the Slave? Have the dr880 running midi thru the saffire pro 40 and also the audio running into the pro 40 inputs as well. Open new file, open new midi track and whether i click on Gm folder or saffire folder in media / library on right of arrange page then hit channel 10, logic recognizes and show me the midi messages. NOW how do I set logic as the master? Then have the midi also pull the audio out of the dr880 onto a seperate audio track so all is synced and quantitzed?? Dr 880 is set to auto in midi preferences to recognize Logic as master, clicked on about every midi setting in global preferences and in synchronization to no avail.
